WHAT'S A MEETING LIKE?

Troop meetings are at Church of the Open Door Vermilion Campus. We start at 6:30PM with the whole troop together for a flag ceremony, announcements, and a brief message from the Chaplain. The Navigators and Adventurers (grades 6-12) then head to their own area with adult leaders, and work on Trail Badge requirements (camping, first aid, citizenship, woods tools, etc.). The Woodlands Trail (grades K-5) focuses on a branch step (find more info in the Parents page), which includes playing a game, having some discussion, hands-on activities, and a faith tie-in closing. The Woodlands Trail splits into Patrols, Fox (K-1st grade), Hawk (2nd-3rd grade), and Mountain Lion (4th-5th grade), for a large portion of this meeting. The whole troop then comes back together around 7:45PM for a closing flag ceremony.

We also have monthly "Hit the Trail" events, typically on a weekend day, which may include such activities as a day hike, model rocket launch, museum tour, snow tubing, fire station tour, etc. Camping or overnight trips sometimes serve as our Hit the Trail event.

You're welcome to join us for a meeting before committing to register in Trail Life. Just shoot us a message below and we'll let you know when we're meeting next!
